Well we’ve finally moved in and settled down at studio 3A, we absolutely love our new ‘hood – interesting friendly neighbours, and always a lively buzz around the estate, it definitely feels like home.

All our potters are back to work day and night making beautiful things and bookings are open for friends to use our hot wheels and communal hand building and glazing area. We’ll also be ramping up outside firings as our new kilns come on line through May.

Agatha kicked off her lessons with a small school holiday program which was well supported and lots of fun, she had a enthusiastic group of tiny 5 and 6 year olds who behaved beautifully and produced lovely colourful sculptural works. Stay tuned for adult groups and more kids classes soon, and you can always book a private lesson with Deb or Agatha.

We have some great things coming up in May – starting with ... our official opening!!!

Studio Opening: Sunday May 7, from 1-5pm. A little ‘do’ to celebrate our opening, all our friends old, new and yet-to-be are welcome. There’ll be some drinks and nibbles and we might even put on clothes which aren’t covered in clay for the special occasion. Hope to see you there.

Inner West Open Studio Trail: Sunday 21st May

We moved to the Inner West just in time to be part of this brilliant initiative from Inner West Council – 2 weekends of open art studios of all kinds, sounds like heaven to us.

When we’re not touring other artists’ studios we’ll be open for visitors on the weekend of the 20th and 21st May. We’ll have some clay to play with and our potters will be on hand to welcome people and talk about their work. Look for the #iwost hashtag on instagram.

Pop Up Exhibition: This is yet to be confirmed, but it’ll be the first of many. The Sydney Clay Studio potters will be exhibiting and selling their wares at a lovely pop up gallery in Potts Point at the end of May. Stay tuned for an announcement and invitations.
